Austin-based HomeAway reportedly started off its search for a potential suitor nearly three years ago. But now, the travel booking site Expedia wants to buy the short-term rental marketplace HomeAway for $3.9 billion to boost its presence in the vacation rental market.

Austin, Texas-based home rental platform HomeAway purchased Santa Rosa Beach, Florida-based guest management system Glad to Have You for an undisclosed sum to enhance its own rental listing service.
Redpoint Ventures announced on Tuesday that it had hired former Twitter Inc executive Ryan Sarver as a partner in the venture capital firm, according to a company press release.
