Google grants UNICEF a total of $1.5 million in its battle with Zika virus which has been declared an epidemic by WHO last month. The virus has been linked with microcephaly and neurological illness called Guillain-Barre syndrome. UNICEF and the tech giant will collaborate to map and anticipate the spread of the virus.
WeChat announced Wednesday its new fitness channel called WeRun, which is a step counter app. WeChat is China's most popular messaging app that has more than 600 million users. The WeRun is not the first time WeChat moved into fitness. Tencent, WeChat's parent company, launched the WeChat Sports in February.

Venture capitalist Jamie McCourt gave a $25,000 grant to UNICEF to support this year's UNICEF Ball fund campaign. McCourt, who owns Jamie Enterprises, gave the grant late last month.
New York-based online auction site CharityBuzz has raised USD100 million in funding for good causes such as UNICEF, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, by auctioning off time and possessions of famous people.
