In addition, Latinos Post further explained the ultrasonic fingerprint technology. This mechanism will make a 3D map of the user's finger which includes all the micro-ridges of the skin. According to Qualcomm, the technology will still function even if the user scans with wet or dirty fingers a much more improved compared with the fingerprint scanners at present which may not work well or at all unless fingers are properly placed and are clean.

Moreover, NDTV Gadgets cited other features that Xiaomi Mi 5 might sport. This device is said to be the first to run on the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor working hand-in-hand with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 530 GPU. The handset is said to feature a 5.3-inch QHD (1440x2560) pixels resolution display with pixel density of 554ppi. It will also come in 16GB or 64GB inbuilt storage variants and is not expandable thru microSd card slot. The Xiaomi Mi 5 is also speculated to be armed with a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash. This gadget will be powered with a 3,030mAh capacity battery. In addition, the device, aside from a fingerprint sensor, is believed to include a USB Type-C port, feasibly the version 3.0.
