Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Release Update: Samsung Galaxy S5 & Galaxy S5 Duos Via CyanogenMod ROM

Well-known custom ROM developer of Android operating system CyanogenMod has just released supports to some mid-range smartphones, including Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S5 Duos. The update will bring in CyanogenMod's native features and improvements.

CyanogenMod released earlier yesterday that the team behind the alternative Android developer will now be expanding to some mid-range smartphones in the market under Samsung, HTC, Motorola, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, and LG, among others. This means the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is imminent to roll out to Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S5 Duos.

Some lucky recipients of the ROM are HTC One M8, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 4, LG G3, Motorola Moto G (2014), Moto E (2015), Sony Xperia Z3, and many others.

The Android-based custom ROM will bring in CyanogenMod's IMAP idle support, power management capacity, and security patches. Here's a quick rundown to its features:

4.       Make sure the model number is qualified. Otherwise, it will brick the device. Qualified Galaxy S4 unit has model number GT-I9505. Check it on Settings > About phone > Model number.
