Warner Bros. has finally decided to discontinue the development of Mortal Kombat X for the older-gen consoles, PS3 and Xbox 360. Also, NetherRealm Studios has announced the newest patch's changelog that will go live shortly.

After series of delays and problematic development, TechnoBuffalo reports that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment "has finally decided to pull the plug" on Mortal Kombat X for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Below is the official announcement from Yorick, Community Admin for wbgames.com which reads:

Those gamers who have pre-ordered the older-gen console versions for Mortal Kombat X can still get back the amount they paid for.

It can be recalled that Boon had mentioned the status of Mortal Kombat X for the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles last month on his personal Twitter account and said that an "update [is] coming soon."

There had been a lot of questions going on as to the developer's failure to release PS3 and Xbox 360 versions alongside the PS4 and Xbox One last April despite the fact that the scaled down builds were clearly associated with the project at Sony 2014 E3 Conference.

Unfortunately, waiting is finally over since the company decided to discontinue its development and continued to focus on PS4 and Xbox One consoles as well as with mobile devices.

As promised by the developer that improvements would come to Mortal Kombat X, Warner Bros. posted the patch notes on the game's official website. Fans can check the changelog via this link intented for general gameplay fixes that will be added to the game shortly.

Mortal Kombat X is developed by NetherRealm Studios for PS4 and Xbox One for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and was released on April 14. A mobile version of the game was also launched both for IOS and android devices.
