Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is now currently rolling out to Sprint's Samsung Galaxy Note 4 handsets. Google's latest Lollipop stock firmware brings in foremost a treatment to the well-known malicious security vulnerability Stagefright.

Galaxy Note 4 units with model number SM-N910P are the only qualified versions to receive the automatic or over-the-air (OTA) release. When notified automatically by the phone, tap "install" and follow onscreen instructions.

Sprint is the first mobile carrier in the US to roll out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update from 5.0.2 to Samsung Galaxy Note 4 units with Stagefright vulnerability fix. Stagefright is the name given to a potential exploit that dwells within the Android operating system.

The vulnerability issue operates by sending a video message which becomes an avenue of potential threat or attack. Google's Hangouts app specifically was pointed out the problem came from.

It will automatically process the video and will be ready for viewing. As soon as opening the video message, the bug will attack without the user knowing it.
