'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is speculated to feature Doomsday, Superman's arch nemesis, as the film's villain. Director Zack Snyder also allegedly leaked a new image from the film on his social media account.

Recent rumors exposed that the murderous Doomsday will make an appearance in the upcoming superhero film. Movie Pilot reported that the fictional supervillain commonly associated with Superman will make it to the big-screen straight from the DC comic books. Apparently, he is the result of Lex Luthor's experiment on Zod after the latter passed.

Doomsday is set for a final showdown between the superhero trio Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman in the film. MP's Andrew Brindley said he was able to read the leak from a script that was immediately taken down by Warner Bros.

Several other speculations on the upcoming film continue floating around online as the debut date nears. In an article by Attack of the Fanboy, it was said that director Zack Snyder masterfully introduced Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman in 'Man of Steel' to transition seamlessly into 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'.

A theory came up based on the film's trailer that Batman came to hate Superman during the latter's destructive fight with Zod in the Metropolis and vowed to battle against him to save the world from total annihilation. After Superman killed Zod, Lex Luthor somehow procured the dead body and went on to experiment on it eventually giving rise to Doomsday. It was further speculated that Doomsday was most likely the monster Wonder Woman was fighting off in the film's trailer.

According to Batman-News, a new photo of what seemed to be Batman in a field on a gloomy day made its rounds on social media with what was allegedly a leak made by Snyder. In the article, it was stated that Snyder is known to be fond of posting photos from the upcoming movie on his private Instagram account.

Set photographer Clay Enos then takes these private photos and shares them out to the general public - he didn't do the same in this circumstance, however. In an attempt to debunk the assumed leak, it was later speculated that the new photo was most likely manipulated by one of Snyder's followers. The photograph did resemble a similar scene on the official trailer regardless of its authenticity.

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is an upcoming live-action comic book adaptation as the second movie in the DC extended universe. It is the sequel to 'Man of Steel' starring Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. It is set to be released on March 25, 2016.
