Actor and former WWE star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is reportedly in talks with the producers of the cult classic movie "Big Trouble in Little China." The movie's reboot will be written by the writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz who wrote "X-Men: First Class."

The movie "Big Trouble in Little China" was first produced by John Carpenter and according to many reports, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will be playing the character of an all-American truckers who gets into a mystical battle in the Chinatown of San Francisco.

Johnson reportedly loves the movie and although the negotiations are still ongoing, the writers for the reboot have already made a deal with the producers. The reboot of the movie will be released by 20^th Century Fox, which also released the original film. Fox will be working with Seven Bucks Productions led by Dany and Hiram Garcia. 20^th Century Fox is actually working on another reboot of Carpenter's movie entitled "Escape from New York."

The 1986 classic cult film reportedly grossed only $11 million when it was released in theatres but it is expected to earn more when the reboot hits the cinemas. This is expected to happen as Johnson is one of the highest grossing Hollywood stars of all time. Also, the movie is an action comedy and Johnson is known best for his roles in this genre of movie.

Johnson recently debuted his "San Andreas" film and it has earned $54 million just for the domestic opening weekend. "San Andreas" topped both the domestic and international box office. Details about "Big Trouble in Little China" is yet to be announced as to when production will star and when the expected release date is.

Johnson is also set to be on the small screens as he will be in the new HBO original series entitled "Ballers." This series will debut later this June. He will also be starring in a Warner Bros. movie called "Shazam" and will lend his voice in a Disney animated film entitled "Moana."
