Cosco Capital agrees to acquire Philippine-based firm Office Warehouse

In a filing from The Philippine Stock Exchange on Tuesday revealed that Cosco Capital Inc entered an agreement to fully acquire Office Warehouse Inc, a supplier of office and school materials, according to GMA News Online.

Office Warehouse is a company that sells office and school supplies, furniture, and technology gadgets. At present, the company has 47 outlets all over the country. 

The purchase is part of the Philippine conglomerate's expansion efforts. In a text message sent to GMA, Cosco president Leonardo B. Dayao said of the acquisition: "We see this as a complementary to our food retailers Puregold Supermarkets and SnR Membership Shopping. Office Warehouse will provide growth avenue for Cosco."

Cosco is a listed holding company owned by business tycoon Lucio Co. His business portfolio includes liquor distributors, oil storage companies, and commercial real estate firms, GMA News online reported.
