Journalism monetizer Byliner announced its purchase of mobile developer Seesaw Decisions for an undisclosed amount. This is the first acquisition for the startup, according to a report published by TechCrunch.

Seesaw was founded by Aaron Gotwalt, Kyle Sollenberger, and Jesse Engle. The company launched its namesake app that allows users to gather opinions from friends. The firm then launched Everlapse, an app that allows users to create and share digital flipbooks.

Under the terms of the acquisition deal, Gotwalt will become the chief technology officer of Byliner. Sollenberger will become the vice president of user experience. Engle will be joining the team as an advisor. According to the company, four other employees of Seesaw will join Byliner, the report said.

Seesaw's investors include Baseline Ventures, Betaworks, Freestyle Capital, and First Round Capital. Byliner's investors include CrunchFund, which was founded by Michael Arrington, said the report.

Byliner explained the company's plan for the existing apps: "We are going to build on the Everlapse app, and unsure on the Seesaw app for now."
