A new Chief Executive Officer was installed at Priceline.com Inc, this comes after its incumbent CEO Jeffrey Boyd would be elevated as chairman. Darren Huston, who joined Priceline back in 2011 as the head of Booking.com, Priceline.com's European unit.

Boyd, while at the helm, oversaw the hundred fold surge in its share valuation in the past decade, allowing the company to race past main competition such as Expedia Inc. Priceline now has established itself as the best site to book hotels in Europe and is now growing in Asia, especially after it had purchased Agoda.com.

Huston has big shoes to fill but his work in Booking, com fueled the company's growth, building a US brand and also oversaw the acquisition ot Kayak Software Corp to further expand revenues from hotel search functionality.

On January , Huston would be officially serving as Priceline.com CEO and a member of the board. He has a number of challenges before him, such as the company's fourth quarter earnings projections lagging behind analyst's estimates. He said, "In the coming months, my focus will be to work with Jeff, the brad CEOs and group leadership to make sure we stay the course on the execution of our business strategy."
