Hettich plans to expand in India

Hettich, the German furniture fittings and hardware company, who has a subsidiary in India, said it would be investing about INR500 crore in the next five years. The move was to capitalize on the increasing domestic demand to make the country a global manufacturing center for its parent firm.

Hettich India is a joint venture created by the Hettich Group and Adventz from the Saroj Poddar Group. The subsidiary had already spent INR100 crore in constructing its factory located in Vadodara.

According Hettich Global CEO Andreas Hettich, "India is now one of our largest subsidiaries in terms of sales and will soon become a manufacturing hub as well as in the near future." He confirmed the German firm intends to make India the base for servcing the markets of nearby South Asia and Middle East.

Currently, Hettich send its products into India. It now plans to invest in research and development for its products as well as provide training for its Indian workers.The company offers fittings and hardware for furniture in offices and homes. The company works with service dealers, furniture manufacturers, projects as well as interior designers as well as architectural firms.
