Milwaukee-based Rexnord Aerospace is comprised of two strategic platforms that include Water Management and Process & Motion Control. The company has around 7,300 employees worldwide. The company offers process & motion control services including manufacturing, designing, specific markets and services as well as highly-engineered mechanical components in complex systems.

Today, Rexnord announced that it had acquired the assets Micro Precision Gear Technology Limited. The latter is based in UK and is a manufacturer of specialty precision gears for the aerospace market. Micro-Precision had employed 85 workers with annual sales of around USD14 million. The company is the maker of specially designed gears and shafts including other core packs for the civil aerospace industry and other end markets. The products manufactured at Micro-Precision are used all over the world for flight control, power generation applications and actuation of aircrafts.

According to Darryl Mayhorn, President of Rexnord Aerospace, Micro-Precision's deep technical capability allowed the company to build strong customer relationships with key clients in the aerospace industry.  "The combination of the two companies provides the ability to bring additional content to our existing aerospace customers, while building on Micro-Precision's customer relationships. Together we offer an expanded portfolio of mission-critical, highly efficient aerospace components, sub-assemblies and services," Mayhorn added.
