Apple Inc's top gun has been actively traveling China with local telecommunication companies, seeking more gateways to enter tha massively growing Chinese market.
Tim Cook, the chief executive officer of Apple, discussed "cooperative matters" with xi Guo Hua, chairman of China Mobile, according to reports from Reuters and Bloomberg. China Mobile is the largest mobile carrier in the word (by subscribers). However, the compay is also the only telco in China which does not offer Apple devices such as the iPhone and iPad.
According to analysts, almost 13% of the American tech titan's total revenue in the second quarter was due to Chinese market profits. This was equal to US$4.6 billion. In January to March, Apple had a stronger showing with US$8.2 billion.
Analysts expeect that the Chinese mobile market will not be as robust as other markets like India. This means that the Chinese smartphone buying population can provide the much needed profit resource in the near future when Western markets begin to saturate.
