Almost half of Michael Dell's fortune comes from Dell Technologies, a Texas-based computer manufacturer he established 40 years ago while still a student at the University of Texas at Austin.
While the company is renowned for its personal computers, its high-performance servers, including the H100 and MI300X, have garnered attention for their services in handling artificial intelligence (AI) workloads.
Michael Dell's wealth also received a boost from his stake in chipmaker Broadcom Inc. He acquired the shares after it bought VMWare in 2021. According to Fortune, those shares are worth over $31 billion.
