Avid fans are excited for the New Girls Season 5 which will premiere on January 5, 2016. Many are looking forward to the new season even without the "new girl" herself, Zooey Deschanel. Deschanel's replacement, Megan Fox, will be filling in the role yet there are many rumors surrounding Fox in the show, the recent one where she was seen kissing with Jake Johnson, who play Deschanel's love interest in the show. Does this mean Fox is replacing Deschanel for good?

A photo of pharma rep Reagan, played by Fox, was seen kissing Nick, played by Johnson, on a sidewalk. According to Vine Report, the scoop worried some fans as Jessica "Jess" Day, played by Deschanel, may not like the idea of Nick hooking up with Reagan and it may be critical that their kiss might make Fox a regular. However, another photo showed Reagan sadly walking away from Nick while he sits on the sidewalk watching her leave, which depicts that theirs is just a fling and nothing serious.

It is not over yet for Nick and Jess in season 5 since Deschanel already filmed three episodes for the show, including the premiere episode. According to Movie Pilot, Jess and Nick- as Schmidt and Cece's Maid of Honor and Best Man - plan an elaborate engagement party for the newly engaged couple, including but not limited to an elaborate Bollywood dance number.

Meanwhile, New Girl executive producer Liz Meriwether only has good words for Fox and that she is very excited to have her on the show. In an interview with People, Max Greenfield, who plays Schmidt in the show, said that he is impressed with Fox's comedic skills and how wonderful she is to work with.

"We've been having so much fun. She's very funny - I'm excited for people to see how funny she is. She's been really good on these episodes. We've all really gotten along. She kind of fit in seamlessly. She's done like four [episodes] so far, and it's been really nice. We have a really good time," Greenfield added.

New Girl Season 5 will premiere on January 5 at 8pm on FOX.
