'Looking' leading actor Jonathan Groff explained the HBO television series' appeal and critical acclaim. The wrap-up movie is revealed to feature numerous explicit scenes. It is scheduled to be released sometime in early 2016.

According to Vulture, the upcoming 'Looking' film is intended to wrap up the HBO television series of the same name. Jonathan Groff, who plays lead character Patrick Murray, revealed that he just filmed one of the most explicit films in his career. Groff is known to have filmed several intimate scenes throughout the series run from 2014 to 2015.

The comedy-drama series follows group of homosexual friends living in San Francisco and aired for two seasons consisting of 18 episodes. Patrick is a video game designer, Agustin is an artist's assistant and Dom is an aspiring restaurateur. The original HBO series features their stories as they tackle careers, love, family and life in modern-day San Francisco.

An article by Advocate Film showed several images from the set of the new 'Looking' movie collected from various Instagram accounts of cast members. The photographs offered behind-the-scenes sneak peaks of Groff, Frankie Alvarez, Murray Bartlett, Russell Tovey, Raul Castillo as well as others.

Groff offered his opinion on the general appeal of the series as reported on Huffington Post. He said, "One of the cool things about 'Looking' is that after the first season, a lot of people -- shockingly, liberal, open artists in New York and L.A. -- said they didn't know that gay people could have sex while facing each other... The show illuminated intimacy in sex [between men] without being porny or salacious. Those scenes felt very real and true to life. I was excited to do them." The television series received generally positive reviews from critics and despite its slow start with regards to ratings, managed to draw in an average of 2 million viewers.

The 30-year old actor and singer admitted that he became emotional when the cast reunited for the 'Looking' film. HBO canceled the series after only two seasons after it struggled to find an audience. The upcoming film will serve as a two-hour series finale.

'Looking' is an upcoming film that will serve as a one-time feature episode intended as the HBO television series' finale. The movie is scheduled to be released early in 2016 and began filming in September 2015.
