Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Android 6.0 Marshmallow Release Update

Last month, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge was confirmed to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade in the second quarter of 2016, and users will find out the exact release date soon, as a new leak revealed that the device will get the new build come February.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow software is coming to the Galaxy Note Edge units by February next year, as reported by a UK-based news site. Last month, the device was already pronounced ready for testing by this time. In fact, TimesNews.co.uk unveiled that the biggest software update in Android history has already been approved and ready to be released to the device.

Galaxy Note Edge has been confirmed fit for the upgrade through the device with model number SM - N915G which currently runs on the final Lollipop version. Meanwhile, 12 other models are bound for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade with their corresponding current OS version, namely:

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will bring in so many improvements. Here is the list of improvements:

  • Better app links
  • Redesigned app drawer
  • Extensive Android Pay
  • Smarter Google now with Now on Tap
  • More animations for user interface
  • Fingerprint support
  • USB Type-C support
  • Power saver (Doze Mode)

Android 6.0 Marshmallow was also confirmed rolling out to Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy S5, among others.

Among the mobile carriers, T-Mobile was the first to reveal its plans for the model, while Verizon, US Cellular, Sprint, AT&T, Bell, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile have yet to give a hint of their plans.
