Becky G has an ambitious goal to fulfill and it's becoming the next J.Lo.

While that is not an impossible dream given the fact that the Mexican-American pop singer is starting to be recognized, Becky G definitely needs to meet great expectations.

Jennifer Lopez is one of the highest paid performers of Hollywood, gaining multiple nominations and awards including MTV Music Awards, Billboard Icon Award, and being hailed as the favourite Latina music artist.

Which is why it's not surprising for Becky G to wish for the same and aim this feat of success.

In an interview with Miami New Times, the 18-year-old singer shared how much she looks up to J.Lo and expressed her desire to follow her footsteps.

"Doesn't every Latina want to be the next J. Lo? J. Lo has always been my idol. I could only hope to be blessed like she has been in her career. I've been lucky enough to have met her and she is a wonderful person." The young singer said.

Currently and as early as now, Becky G is working hard in reaching her dreams. Not only was she able to make smash singles like "Can't Get Enough" with Pitbull and her hit track "Shower", the Latina singer is also taking her first steps in the acting industry.

Among the early acting credits the young star is well-received by are her guest role in "Empire" and a purported lead role in the anticipated "Power Rangers" movie.

The way things are going, the chances of Becky G becoming the next J.Lo isn't farfetched after all.

"I admire her in many ways. She is a very powerful woman who has worked her ass off. She has proven herself in so many ways. A singer, actress, business woman, mother, cultural leader to many. She is Jenny from the block but also Jenny that don't stop! She is about her business and is successful at it." Becky expressed about her idol.

Becky G, whose real name is Rebecca Marie Gomez, is known for her musical style of mixing pop and Latin music genres which she performs brilliantly.
