WCAS Buys Service Repair Solutions from Warburg Pincus

Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, a private equity firm dedicated to information, business services and healthcare, announced today that it has arranged to buy Service Repair Solutions from Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm whose focus are on growth investing.

Service Repair Solutions, meanwhile, is a provider of information services and automotive workflow solutions. Service Repair Solutions products are utilized in inspection, diagnosing and repairing. Their products serviced more than 50 million automobiles last year.

Under Service Repair Solutions are Identifix and iATN line of businesses and these are the leading suppliers of vehicle diagnostic testing and fix information to no less than 40,000 automotive service centers across North America. Launched in the later part of the 80's, Identifix has continued to help car repair businesses operate efficiently by providing a proprietary data resource that allow mechanics to fix more vehicles in less time and with better results.

Service Repair Solutions also have under it the MPI and Auto Point businesses which cater to more than 1,000 service shops in North America.  Both provide enhanced vehicle inspection process which increase consistency and quality and customer relationship management products to ensure service shops have lasting relationships with car owners.
