Nawaz Sharif, the prime minster of Pakistan, said that the Pakistani government is 'pro-business and pro-investment' in a meeting with the Chinese group of investors today. In what he described as an 'investment friendly regime,' Sharif welcomed the entrepreneurs to invest in the local market especially in the energy sector.

The prime minister addressed the speed during the Pakistan-China Energy Forum, attended by over 50 investors and company representatives from China. Sharif mentioned that he was spearheading the Pakistani government's efforts to remove the country from the economic rut it is currently swimming on. For many years, the South Asian country has been experiencing several economic meltdowns largely due to an unstable political condition.

Sharif said in the meeting that he hopes for Chinese investors to lead the way for other nations to invest in Pakistan's growing energy sector.

According to The Express Tribune in Pakistan, the challenge being faced by the Sharif administration is 'perception management.'
