Users of Nexus phones have been reportedly experiencing installation, charging, and performance problems with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Google is expected to release a patch to fix these bugs any time soon.

Complaints on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow have been streaming in as Nexus users find issues with the latest Google Android software. IBTimes UK reported that Nexus phones with Android M are facing bugs related to installation, charging, and performance. Even though Google had done numerous tests on the Android M to remove errors, there are still some issues that pop up on Nexus phones.

Nexus devices are among the first to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update: however, it came with a price of being test subjects for a new product. Nexus owners experience recurrent random reboots and other issues as per the report.

Installation: Nexus owners experienced freezes and crashes during the Android 6.0 Marshmallow installation process. According to the report, users should wait until the phone has no battery left and they should again recharge it to full capacity. Clearing cache partition might also help. If these methods do not work, it is recommended to perform a factory reset on the device.

Charging and Battery: Android 6.0 Marshmallow seems to need great processing power to function, resulting to faster battery depletion. Users are advised to shut down unnecessary apps and services and to perform regular phone reboots. Battery-draining features like GPS, Wi-Fi, and Google Maps could also be turned off. Additionally, the device should only have 5-10% power before doing a 100% charge to recalibrate charging cycle.

Performance: App crashes and persistent lagging are also among the common problems in Android 6.0 Marshmallow. A probable cause of slow performance is low memory. Clearing the device's cache could allow maximum performance speed. On the other hand, app crashing might be caused by a corrupt file or app incompatibility with Android M. It is advised that apps are up to date and to clear App data and cache to fix the problem.
