The speculated release date of Google's latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware may already be confirmed. On October 5, the newest operating system is expected to be launched to a number of Nexus devices.

Just recently, there were documents leaked from the Canadian carrier, Telus, which highly anticipated the release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to Nexus 5 and 6 smartphones. As reported, the update will be arriving on October 5 in the country. Apparently, the official rollout might actually arrive on this day as new reports from a reliable source, Android Police, come out.

According to Android Police, sources have confirmed the date previously spotted on Telus FAQ page leak, which suggests several Nexus devices are going to get the software on the 5th of October. However, it seems some older generation Nexus handsets are being left out. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system stays as the latest and last software update to see on the Nexus 10, Nexus 4, and Nexus 7 2012 edition.

The models that will receive the over-the-air (OTA) update of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, include ASUS Nexus Player, Motorola Nexus 6, LG Nexus 5, ASUS Nexus 7 (2013), and HTC Nexus 9. As it always happens with Google upgrades, the OTA updates of Android 6.0 Marshmallow will possibly reach some users sooner than others based on their location around the globe.

Fortunately, the software zip files may be available soon after the official launch has been held. If one can no longer wait, then a manual update will be on hand. In case users need to flash back to stock, factory images will also be provided.

Nonetheless, Google has no final word for the "confirmed" release date of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to Nexus devices yet. Thus, everyone should just wait patiently for the official announcement of the search engine giant any time soon. It will be worth the wait and all Google and Android speculators will be delighted to this new software.
