ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" is about to enter season 12 with notable changes in the cast and story. Patrick Dempsey's sudden departure from the show last season shocked the fans of the medical drama. But despite McDreamy's absence, the show is still far from ending as new cast members board the ship to sail into new storylines.

According to Vine Report, "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 remains promising even without Patrick Dempsey's presence in it. Some fans became worried about the show's future after the tragic death of McDreamy last season. Even Katherine Heigl said that she can't imagine the show without Dempsey.

However, fans are still excited towards the new storylines of the show. April and Jackson's relationship will once again undergo challenges, as what we have previously reported. Sarah Drew's character has to choose between becoming a surgeon in Jordan or stay with Jesse William's character to try and make their marriage work again.

Last season, the couple lost their son, which was a big blow to their relationship. Before season 13 ended, April told Jackson about her plan to go back to the Army. Jason did not contend her plan but bluntly told April that he will not wait for her to come back.

To make things interesting for the "Grey's Anatomy" season 12, "The Ring" star Martin Henderson joins the hit ABC series and will reportedly become the new McDreamy, according to Inquisitr. Henderson was tapped to become a series regular. Can he really fill the shoes of Dr. Derek Shepherd and hopefully the void in the hearts of the fans that are still reeling over Dempsey's departure?

"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 is set to return with new faces and exciting storylines. Fans of April and Jackson should hold tight as the couple might have a rough season once again. Meanwhile, how Martin Henderson's character will blend in with the others is something to watch out for when the new season premieres this September 24 on ABC.
