News on "Watch Dogs 2" continues to be up in the air.

While the first "Watch Dogs" was one of the bigger hits on the PS4, there's been no official announcement of a sequel, despite a continual stream of rumors and previews that hint at the game's existence.

The latest such rumor comes from KpopStarz, who claim that the "Watch Dogs" sequel is set for a 2016 release date. This may well be possible, but we'll have to wait to hear more proof before we confirm it as true.

However, KpopStarz' report also includes the idea of "smart" cities, which may factor significantly into the sequel, as "Watch Dogs 2" has been previously rumored to take place in an entirely different setting from the first game.

As well, KDramaStars has its own update on the game. First, their reports confirm what had been rumored previously, both there and here at Venture Capital Post- that Aiden Pearce would no longer be the protagonist of the second game.

It's not 100% clear why Pearce would be cut, but some sources indicate that it's due to his status as a white male- many gamers have been speaking out and asking for more diversity in gaming, and "Watch Dogs 2" may answer that with a minority protagonist.

KDramaStars' report also adds something new to the rumor mill: new gameplay elements for a "Watch Dogs" sequel. According to their sources, the second game may include weapons with more explosive capabilities, new side missions, extra elements like gyms and shopping malls for the player character, and better graphics (their report claims the game's graphics will rival "Grand Theft Auto 5.")

Stay tuned for more info- check back soon for the latest on "Watch Dogs 2," and maybe a little more on who the new protagonist might be.
