"The Sims 4" has been long-awaited by anyone who's ever played one of EA's "The Sims" games, and that is a considerably large group of people. So there's a considerably large amount of anticipation for the upcoming "Sims" sequel.

And now, thanks to The Christian Post, we know exactly when "The Sims 4" will be released: on September 2, 2014. This is later than previously expected, but EA went on record to explain why the release date was pushed back, stating the delay was necessary to "fuel [the] development process, helping 'The Sims 4' to be the most ambitious and the best game our studio has ever made."

EA also revealed that "The Sims 4" is only planned on PC right now. Presumably, though it will find its way to Mac OS X sometime in the future.

The Christian Post also revealed the system requirements for "The Sims 4," which are as follows:

"Internet connection for product activation

Operating Systems required: Windows XP (SP3), Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7 (SP1), Windows 8, or Windows 8.1

Processor: 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Athlon 64 Dual-Core 4000+ or equivalent (For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.0 GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-62 or equivalent)

MEMORY: At least 2 GB RAM

HARD DRIVE: At least 9 GB of free space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games

DVD-ROM: DVD ROM drive required for installation only

VIDEO CARD: 128 MB of Video RAM and support for Pixel Shader 3.0. Supported Video Cards: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or better, ATI Radeon X1300 or better, Intel GMA X4500 or better

SOUND CARD: DirectX 9.0c Compatible

DIRECTX: DirectX 9.0c compatible

INPUT: Keyboard and Mouse"

They're fairly low requirements, but that's probably intentional- a way of getting as many people as possible playing "The Sims 4."

The latest "Sims" is likely to have a bevy of new features, and here's a new one- the presence of toddler sims. Previous games have had child sims, but not toddlers, and according to The Fuse Joplin, EA may be extending the Sim life cycle to add in this crucial stage.

EA has also released a new trailer for the game, via Gameranx, which spoofs Dos Equis' "The Most Interesting Man in the World" ad campaign. Check it out below.
