"No Make-Up Selfies" trends Twitter, gets thousands of cash donations for Irish Cancer Society

#NoMakeUp, #breastcancerawareness and other breast cancer hashtags are trending Twitter causing a loud roar from netizens. The social media craze No Make-Up Selfie resulted to hefty cash donations to Irish Cancer Society. The organization intends to raise awareness against cancer and urged women, even men, to upload raw pictures without any makeup on to join the campaign.

Social media platform Twitter was flocked with users promoting LIKECHARITY, a service that enables charity donations through sending a text messages. Users would post their “no make-up selfies” that turned the campaign into a hit craze, reported LIKECHARITY.

Users posted photos with a caption that reads “text PINK to 50300” that caused trending in Twitter.
The service reported that a hefty EUR200000 was already donated to the Irish Cancer Society. The report also added that users has raise more than EUR40000 overnight after posting pictures on Facebook and Twitter.
