Say goodbye to the harsh cold winds of winter as Spring finally fills the air. Hashtag #spring and #springbreak has been pretty viral on Twitter today following the approach of the season. Those living the Northern Hemisphere would experience the first bloom of spring when the sun passes over the celestial equator. This would happen on Thursday this year when the sun moves from across the invisible line between the hemispheres. Officially, spring starts Thursday at 12:57 p.m. EDT.

There are four seasons in some places while others have less. The moment Earth experiences equinoxes and solstices these signify the end of one season and the start of a new one. Equinoxes happens in March and September which also marks the spring and fall. Meanwhile solstices occurring June and December marks the start of summer and winter. This would mean that when the people in the Northern Hemisphere experience spring, those who are in the south welcomes in autumn.

What’s your spring break plan this year?
