Although the progress in the film's production is currently moving pretty slow, franchise leads Reeves and Winter have long planned to return to reprise their roles, and according to The Hollywood News, William Sadler who played as the Grim Reaper in previous film, is also interested in joining them for another run of comical shenanigans in the big screen. But aside from talking about playing Grim Reaper, Sadler also reportedly revealed that the passing of George Carlin could be one of the biggest problems in creating the plot for the sequel. Carlin played the role of Rufus, who served as the host and guide to Bill and Ted, and was an important character in the duo's adventures. Aside from Carlin's passing, Movie News Guide reported that Reeves also cited the budget as one of the problems in creating the movie. According to Reeves, the sequel's budget is around $150 million, and will make the upcoming movie the most expensive film in the franchise. Problems are reportedly being experienced in terms of funding, given that many years have passed since the previous film, and the franchise' not so popular standing internationally might also be a reason for the financiers' hesitation. Aside from Reeves and Winter no official announcements have been revealed yet pertaining to the film's cast or release date. However,more details are expected to be revealed as production for Bill and Ted 3 progress.
