Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update: OTA Release for Sony Xperia T2 Ultra with Stagefright Fix Now Live!

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop's official over-the-air (OTA) is currently rolling out to Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Dual version D5322 with build number 19.4.A.0.182. The update comes with a long-term solution to the notorious Stagefright threat, plus a few minor tweaks and several bugs.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is also confirmed to roll out to the single SIM version of Sony T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 variants. The update comes in stages so it may come to other phones in later time.

Whenever the device is notified for the over-the-air update, just click "install now' to proceed. Then follow onscreen instructions. To manually check for the update, head over to Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for update and follow onscreen instructions.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop can also be downloaded via flash tool in the Middle East. Just go to this link and skip to the section of "FlashTool steps." After downloading file, go to section where there is "Flash Device."

Before installing the new software version of Android Lollipop, make sure the battery is charged up to at least 50 percent and the internal storage is vacant with at least 1 GB.

Here's are new features and improvements in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware.

  • Material Design. Android's latest user interface is made better with more fluid shadows, vibrant animations, varied font styles and colors. The UI gives device a cleaner minimalist design.
  • Security Improvements. Android has been surrounded with different threats and vulnerabilities. With Lollipop, security is strengthened to counter privacy issues when device is stolen or lost. Anti-malware and Smart Lock helps secure information when sharing it to trusted devices.
  • Device Switch. Using the near-field communication (NFC), switch one device to another is made more convenient by setting up the same format for apps, wallpaper and screen layout. It also takes notes of Settings for Wi-Fi and location.
  • Device Sync. With the new Lollipop, syncing device to TV, watches, cars and other devices is made possible. This comes with browsing ability. Listen and watch also from one device and continue to another where one left off through a Google account.
