Following a controversial plea to change iPhone 6S' name through a signage mounted on a truck while roaming around New York City, reports speculated the possibility that Apple might indeed be changing the phone name to iPhone 7.

And marketing company in New York has pleaded Apple to change expected iPhone 6S' to iPhone 7name before hitting stores and mobile carriers through a truck carrying with billboard driving around the city. The company named 6S Marketing reasoned out through the open letter to Apple posted on the company's website that iPhone 6S sounds like their agency's name.

Reports point out that this is only a publicity stunt of the Cupertino giant given that the upcoming phone's release is imminent. However, the ad agency clarified that it was really a genuine request than a promotion.

According to the open letter, 6S claimed they are just a small company that opened since 2000 and it's beyond their imagining that their brand name will be used as a name for a device made by a world famous and well-respected tech company.

Report analyses wrote that Apple might no longer be changing the name of the upcoming flagship smartphone since its release in expected to be just less than two weeks alongside iPhone 6S Plus. They added Apple does not have the luxury of time to change marketing materials and packaging to consider the ad agency's plea.

Meanwhile, other analysts say 6S Marketing should be thankful for the huge opportunity that Apple has unintentionally used the same name since it's a promotion on their part that would somehow boost up their clientele.

Until now, Apple remains silent about the ad agency's plea.

iPhone 6S is expected rock a 5.5-inch display made of Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It will also be powered by Force Touch technology. Like its predecessors, it will wear a 12 MP camera, an A9 processor, advanced TouchID, 2 GB of RAM, and a lot more.
