Singapore-based asset manager Dymon Asia Capital has received a commitment worth $500 million from Temasek Holdings to start a hedge fund seeding venture at a time the Asian industry is starting to recover after six years of sluggish growth.
Shakr Media hooks $2.3 million in a Series A round to expand tech platform. Their sole investor is POSCO Venture Capital, who assisted with receiving funds from the South Korean government.
iZettle, Swedish mobile company, pockets $55.5 million in a series C round led by Zouk Capital with other participants such as Dawn Capital, Intel Capital, Creandum, Greylock, Index, Northzone, and SEB.
India-based LimeRoad, an online ecommerce company, lands a $15 million Series B funding round led by Tiger Global on Tuesday. Other participants include Lightspeed Venture Partners and Matrix Partners India.
European-based Planday raises $3.75 million in seed funding through sole investor Creandum. Christian Brondum, CEO of Planday, describes the new partnership:
Atlanta, Georgia-based e-commerce lending firm Kabbage Inc landed $50 million in its Series D financing led by SoftBank Capital to provide $500 million worth of loans for small online businesses by the end of 2014.
San Francisco, California-based website testing and optimization platform Optimizely raised $57 million in a Series B funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz to hire as many as 250 additional staff within this year.
San Francisco, US-based peer-to-peer lending marketplace pioneer Prosper raised $70 million in a funding round led by private equity firm Francisco Partners to build its business and fuel its growth.
Boulder, US-based robotic toy maker Orbotix raised $15.5 million in its Series D funding round led by Shea Ventures to create new categories of connected toys and to expand globally.
Kamcord has raised $7.1 million led by TransLink Capital and other investors with the latter to also help in the entry of the company in key Asian markets including Japan, Korea and China.
Waggl, a San Francisco based startup launched in February from a spin-off from Fort Hill Company offering messaging and business polling, has raised $1.1 million seed funding round.
Brisbane, California-based online publisher and ad firm Glam Media rebranded as Mode Media after raising $15 million in an unannounced funding round from undisclosed investors to launch a new video business in Los Angeles.
Tealium, a San Diego based firm, has received $20 million funding led by Silver Lake Waterman to be used for company expansion which has totaled the investments in $47.5 million.
Enterprise platform Brightpearl received new funding valued $10 million led by MMC Ventures and participated by other investors including Quayle Munro, Eden Ventures and Notion Capital.
Suresnes, France-based therapeutic companion software provider Voluntis landed $29 million (€20.75 million) in its Series D financing round led by Bpifrance Large Venture and Vesalius Biocapital to develop its diabetes management program and expand its US operations.
