Rick will try to solve the puzzle of one author's death in next week's episode of "Castle" season 8. As Richard solves this new case, he and Beckett will continue to settle their marital issues. But as per showrunners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter, divorce is out of the picture this season.

In the new episode of ABC's crime drama titled, "What Lies Beneath," Castle handles a new case that involves the death of a reclusive author. According to The Futon Critic, Rick is determined to solve the case since he admires the episode's victim and even treats him as his literary idol. However, while Rick and Kate delve into the case, both of them will find out jarring information behind the mysterious case.

"Castle"'s last episode titled, "PhDead," was excruciating for the shippers of Castle and Beckett since the former is adamant that she needs space at the moment. Despite working together on a case that involves a local college fraternity student, Kate was able to shun Rick's effort to have some alone time with her, except from that one moment where they lock themselves into a cell to understand the case even more., Entertainment Weekly wrote.

For those anxious fans of the couple, showrunners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter told The Hollywood Reporter that Stana Katic's Beckett is only asking for some personal space and not a divorce.

"Nobody's getting divorced. They're not splitting up forever," Hawley said. "This is an obstacle in the way that is going to make them ultimately stronger as a couple once they get through it."

Winter added, "At the end of the day she's doing it out of love. "...Castle's definitely what she wants and she's willing to fight for it."

Whether or not Rick and Kate's reconciliation will come shortly is still uncertain but the new episode will give them some time together again. What will the two find out as they investigate on the death of Rick's favorite author? Find out when "What Lies Beneath" airs October 12 on ABC.
