Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update: OTA Release for Samsung Galaxy Core Prime, Tab 4 10.1, Tab S 2, Mega 2, & J1

As flagship devices of Samsung Electronics have slowly receiving Lollipop update, mobile carriers in the US now are reported cramming to release the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop software version. Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets to receive it include Galaxy Core Prime, Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, Galaxy Tab S 2, Galaxy Mega 2, and Galaxy J1.
Major mobile carriers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Verizon are reportedly releasing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to these mid-range devices. The update is expected to give the Galaxy Grand Prime enhancements, more notification controls and security patches.
According to reports, major mobile carriers in the US are on the verge of preparing the update as the Android 6.0 Marshmallow also is coming to its near release slated later this month.
For Galaxy Core Prime, only AT&T and T-Mobile yet have received the update. For Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, only AT&T, US Cellular and Verizon have updated the device. For Galaxy Tab S 2, only T-Mobile was able to update the unit. For Galaxy Mega 2, only AT&T updated it. For Galaxy J1, only Verizon update the unit.
Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will come through over-the-air update using a Wi-Fi connection. If prompted for the download, make sure the battery is charged up to at least 50 percent before heading to the installation proper. Storage should have an extra memory space depending on the download's file size. The update will come in stages.
To check the software version of the phone, just go to Home > Settings > About device. Read the software version.
