Sprint Releases Security Patch for Google Nexus 5 Beginning Today

Sprint has just begun rolling out a security patch for September beginning today to Google Nexus 5. The update will come in stages and is expected to finish within the month.
Sprint has been wary following the widespread Stagefright vulnerability threat that has affected about 95 percent of the Android population. The mobile carrier steps in to protect its consumer from any malicious attacks since Android has been too open.
If prompted that the update is ready for the device, just follow onscreen instructions until reaching complete and successful installation. Google Nexus 5 units qualified for the update has software version LMY48M.
Sprint's Nexus 5 units was last updated on August 5 to counter the Stagefright vulnerability threat, while the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop was released here last May 13. Google has been using Nexus 5 alongside Nexus 9, Nexus Player, and Nexus 6 in testing the upcoming Android 6.0 Marshmallow software.
According to reports, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be out in the shelf later this month. However, only a select smartphones will get the update first ahead of the rest.
