Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur is in the works and will explore around the legend of the excalibur and Arthur discovering about his royalty. While filming continues for the movie, rumors swirled that football star David Beckham will be making an appearance in the film.

The famous legend of Arthur will be explored in Guy Ritchie's Knights of the Round Table. While new details for the movie are scarce as of now, reports suggest that the movie will center on Arthur and his journey to seek revenge against tyrant Vortigern, for the death of his parents.

"The bold new story introduces a streetwise young Arthur who runs the back alleys of Londonium with his gang, unaware of the life he was born for until he grasps hold of the sword Excalibur-and with it, his future. Instantly challenged by the power of Excalibur, Arthur is forced to make some hard choices. Throwing in with the Resistance and a mysterious young woman named Guinevere, he must learn to master the sword, face down his demons and unite the people to defeat the tyrant Vortigern, who stole his crown and murdered his parents, and become King." Warner Bros. Synopsis states.

Aside from the main cast which include Charlie Hunnam for the titular role, Katie McGrath, Jude Law, Eric Bana, Astrid Berges, Djimon Hounsou, Mark Preston, Poppy Delevingne and many others, famous football star David Beckham is also said to appear in the epic.

While his name in the movie has not been reported yet and is currently listed as the "Blackleg leader", a source reportedly leaked that Beckham is said to appear in the part of the film where Hunnam's Arthur draws the excalibur sword.  "There's going to be a version of the scene where Excalibur gets drawn from the stone. This is where Beckham factors in." the source said.

During the scene, fans can expect football puns along the way.  "There were some football puns written for this scene. And there's a little bit of a sense that Beckham's character, who fancies himself a big player in this story, gets a little ticked off when this other fellow, this upstart, is the one who can free the sword." the source added.

Filming for the movie has been ongoing since March when director Guy Ritchie even shared a picture of him and Hunnam in the set.

More details about Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur are expected to be revealed as it nears its July 22, 2016 release.
