The cast and crew of the Starz series are still mum about details of these characters, but there is growing speculation that new cast members will be introduced at the 2015 San Diego Comic Con on July 9-12, 2015.
According to Hypable, the official website of "Outlander" has been promoting on several social media sites of an all-expense paid trip at the Comic-Con and will most likely introduce new characters in costume. Showrunner Ron Moore previously revealed details on one of the characters that fans are looking forward to see in "Outlander" season two - Brianna. Speaking to Zap2It, Moore explained that the actress who will land the role needs to be close to Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe).
"You don't want her to look so radically different that there's no way, but it has to be within the bounds. You're looking for a good actress because she's so important going forward," Moore explained.
The showrunner also revealed that while Gabaldon's second book takes place in France, most scenes of the Starz series will be filmed in Scotland. Meanwhile, "Outlander" will be airing its season 1 finale episode titled, "To Ransom a Man's Soul" on May 30 on Starz.
