Spiderman might have his work cut out for him in the next installment of the Amazing Spiderman 3 as he faces not one, not two but the Sinister Six, the new villains in the next sequel for release in 2018.

Spiderman will face a group of former foes called The Sinister Six. It might prove to be his biggest challenge yet.

The origin of these characters is quite interesting as they were actually conceived by Spidey's archenemy Doctor Octopus. With growing frustration after being defeated by Spiderman on three separate occasions, Doc Oc organized every supervillain Spiderman has come in contact with. Only five villains respond to the call and thus the birth of what could be Spidey's biggest test yet. 

The Sinister Six led by Doctor Octopus and were originally comprised of Electro, Mysterio, Vulture, Kraven the Hunter and Sandman. These characters at some point faced Spiderman and failed miserably. Doctor Octopus struck a chord with this rag tag team of villains by promising revenge and Spidey's ultimate demise.

This was not to be. Sandman who was reformed at this point and only blackmailed into joining eventually helps Spiderman stop The Six and their plans of taking over New York City and eventually the world.  The Hobgoblin slid into Sandman's spot when they realized Sandman had turned on Doc Oc and his crew. The Sinister Six first made an appearance in The Amazing Spiderman  Annual #1 in 1964. It was created by Stan Lee of course and Steve Ditko.

Not much is known about this movie since Marvel and Sony have been real hush hush about it. What is known is that Drew Goddard, director of Cabin in the Woods will be taking over the reins. There is no cast yet and we're not even sure Andrew Garfield will be playing Spidey three years from now.

The interesting marketing ploy which Marvel started by showing a teaser at the credits segment of each superhero movie did not give away the Sinister Six plot at the end of The Amazing Spiderman 2. It can only be found in the mid-credits button in The Amazing Spiderman 2 dvd. It already gave us a glimpse of what lies in store for our webbed friend.

" After seeing The Amazing Spiderman 2-opening on may 2nd- be sure to shazam the end credit sequence to unlock a look into the sinister future. Download @ shazam on itunes or google play.# Spiderman."
