Agent Carter fans might just be hearing some renewal news for the series, most likely next week. Fans of the series have been waiting patiently for news of a renewal since the show wrapped up its eight episode run. Could there be news of an Agent Carter Season 2 next week?

By the ratings, Agent Carter didn't live up to ABC's expectations. The series was originally meant to be a limited series, which means that Agent Carter would only have a limited and set number of episodes for one season. Again, this does not necessarily mean that Agent Carter would be limited to one season alone.

ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continues to decline in the ratings. While the series was pretty much hyped during its initial run, the numbers quickly declined on the onset of the second season. Could ABC bank on Agent Carter's fanbase to help boost ratings for both Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter?

It is to be noted that Agent Peggy Carter is one of TV's strongest female lead roles.  Hayley Atwell has earned praise for her prowess in playing the smart and strong-willed agent. Agent Carter has become one role model for women everywhere. In almost every episode, Agent Peggy Carter has to fight some sort of sexism. Almost every episode has Peggy having to prove her detractors wrong.

Perhaps now, it would be time once again for Agent Carter to prove her detractors wrong. After all, executive producer Louis D'Esposito has expressed his plans for a second season should  there be an Agent Carter Season 2.

ABC president Paul Lee has expressed his optimism on the show's renewal. It has already been confirmed that Agent Carter makes an appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron. With that in mind, ABC has much incentive to bank on this to have Agent Carter renewed for a second season.
