Michael Fassbender will be producing the film and he will join Marion Cotillard as the star of the "Assassin's Creed" movie adaptation. Fassbender will be the lead star and he will reunite with Cottilar who was also his co-star in the Macbeth 2015 movie. Since the film is going to be adapted from the Assassin's Creed stealth action-adventure game series, there are a lot of possible plot and storyline that can be used in the upcoming film rendition. It may either be during the Italian Renaissance or the American Revolution. The Pirate infested Caribbean setting will also be good choice for this movie.

An interesting report points out that there will be a present day setting that will be used in the upcoming film. Since the protagonist in the game series use "Animus" to "experience the memories of his ancestors first hand", Fassbender will use a similar device in the film. This will open up a scenario where he gets to play as an assassin in each era of the film history which will culminate in the present time.

Report states that Fassbender will be the assassin, Aguilar de Agarorobo and Tomas de Torquemada will be the villain.
