Former Spindle CEO and co-founder Pat Kinsel has become a partner at Boston venture capital company, Polaris. This was after Kinsel sold Spindle to Twitter about a year ago. Kinsel’s service to Polaris gave him a reference of being an “entrepreneur in residence.” At that time, Kinsel said that the goal of Spindle was to make sure that valuable social content becomes easier to discover.

Pat worked with Bing, Office and other projects at Microsoft before his position in Spindle. In a statement, Kinsel wrote regarding his new role posted on his personal website. Kinsel said, “My time at Polaris has convinced me that this is an incredible time to be a Series A investor. Given the surge of early stage companies looking for Series A capital, it’s an awesome time to partner with great companies that also interest me personally. I’ve searched through a lot of corners this past year and see so much opportunity.”

Automatic, Quantcast and KissMetrics were listed in the Polaris portfolio.
