Boston social ad startup announces $4.5M extension to Series B funding

Social advertising and marketing startup Moontoast has secured $4.5 million in funding, the Boston-based company announced today. The latest funding comes as an extension to the firm's Series B round, according to VentureBeat.

The platform of Moontoast helps big brands and celebrities monitor and generate additional revenue from their social network followings. The service boasts of a comprehensive analytics dashboard, a social ad generator and tracker, and social media updates that can sell products directly. Toyota, Nike, P&G, Lexus, Microsoft, Samsung, AMD, Nissan, and Hyundai are among the startup's customers, the report detailed.

Moontoast will use the fresh infusion for its company expansion and social platform development. The funding extension came from Nashiville's Martin Companies. The additional capital brings the firm's total Series B funding to $9.5 million, the report stated.

Established in 2008, Moontoast is presently headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. The startup's total raised funding to date is $15.5 million, VentureBeat reported.
