In an announcement made today, online boutique website Zola said it received USD3.25 million in a Series A funding round. The investment round was led by Thrive Capital. The close of the investment round also saw the appointment of Thrive founder and managing partner Joshua Kushner as a new board director of Zola. Gilt Groupe founder Kevin Ryan also contributed to the investment round.

Zola is a newly-launched website catered to engaged couples. Promising a unique wedding registry experience, couples could select from Zola's inspired collection ranging from the traditional items to extraordinary experiences.

co-founder and chief executive of Zola Shan-Lyn Ma said, "We have built a beautiful platform that allows modern couples to register for traditional gifts, unique experiences and cash funds in one seamless, easy-to-navigate experience. This new round of funding will help Zola build out its sophisticated wedding registry platform and mobile apps, and allow us to expand the site's offerings to include more local experiences for couples around the country."

Ma founded Zola with Ryan and Gilt colleague Nobu Nakaguchi.
