MediaSpike announced that it has raised USD5.2 million in Series A funding for in-game product placement.

This financing round was led by CMEA Capital and current investors including 500 Startups, Google Ventures, and Raptor Capital. Its army of new investors included Andreesen Horowtiz and Inspovation Ventures. Angel investors like Jonathan Abrams, Rick Marini, Othman Laraki, and Naval Ravikant also participated in the round.

MediaSpike is a compnany that aims to develop ad placements in mobile and social games. Advertisers bid for ad listings that developers create for standard placements in games. The company stated a few weeks ago that it has now reached a network of 20 million unique users, which is 20 times more in less than five months.

Founder and CEO Blake Commagere he never doubted the success of in-game ad placements. The Series A funding will now allow MediaSpike to pursue more of its vision and goals including setting up a new office in New York City.
