It had become commonplace that droves of loyalists and enthusiasts would await the launch of the latest Apple product to the market. Long lines in Apple stores are everpresent with many waiting for hours on end to have the distinction of having the latest device from the world's foremost consumer electronics firm.

After its launch of the iPhone 5S and 5C just last month, Apple had launched its new iPad Air. The latest iPhonelaunch saw the devices being sold out in a matter of minutes. This though was not the case with the iPad Air, which seemed to gain only very little attention from the public. Sales online of the device still has to be opened, but this may also be lukewarm coming from the thin crowds in the Apple stores during the launch of the iPad Air.

The iPad Air is the fifth version of the Apple tablet. It not only boasts to be extremely light but also boasts greater speed compared to its predecessors. One benchmark report said that the iPad Air is 80% faster than the iPad 4, which is a great increase in such a ligher and thinner device.

Apple's quarterly earnings for Q3 of 2013 reported a USD6.9 billion profit from USD35.5 billion in revenues. Profit though fell 21.6% from 2012, which was at USD8.8 bilion.
