Microsoft's Surface Pro's price was cut by US$100 in various markets, but not in the United Kingdom. For now, consumers in the UK would still have to pay the full price of the tablet.

The pricing promotion of surface Pro is only applied in Canada, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and US until August 29. The cost of a 64GB Microsoft tablet dropped to US$799 while the 128GB model was retailed at US$899. A spokesperson from Microsoft said the discount was made to aid the company in capitalizing on the success of the same promotions in other regions of the world.

According to IT Pro, Microsoft has not made a response yet regarding the possibility of the price marketing being extended to Great Britain. Last month, the software titan publicized a 30% price cut for its Surface RT tablet. This led to the 32GB model being sold at GBP279.99 and 64GB version's price of GBP359 in the country.

Earlier this year, International Data Corporation, a market research and analysis firm, warned Microsoft that Surface RT's high cost would hinder the device's success. Canalys, a fellow analyst, stated that even with the discount, the tablet would still be too expensive for several people.
