Walmart, Target, and Amazon are recalling about 56,300 Remington hair dryers after safety officials warned they could pose a serious electrocution risk.
The recall covers hair dryers sold online between March 2024 and June 2025, priced from $25 to $32.
According to FoxBusiness, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported that the hair dryers, model D3190DCDN, are missing an immersion protection device.
Without this feature, the dryers could cause "death or serious injury from electrocution or shock if they fall into water while plugged in."
The recalled dryers are purple with black accents, feature three black buttons on the handle, and display the Remington brand name in white text.
No injuries have been reported so far, but officials urge customers to stop using the hair dryers immediately.
"Consumers who purchased the product should immediately unplug and stop using the recalled hair dryers and contact Empower Brands to receive a full refund," the recall notice states.

Online Shoppers Advised to Check for Recalled Remington Hair Dryers
Empower Brands, the importer of the hair dryers, is handling the refunds. To take part in the recall, customers need to cut the hair dryer's power cord in half, snap a photo, and upload it through Remington's recall registration portal.
Customers can also get help by calling 1-844-695-2134 or emailing HairdryerRecall@SpectrumBrands.com, Fox59 said.
These hair dryers were only available online through Walmart Marketplace, Target Marketplace, and Amazon.
Empower Brands emphasizes that the recall is a precautionary measure to prevent any potential harm.
"This recall is about ensuring the safety of our customers," said a company spokesperson. "Even though no incidents have occurred, we want to make sure no one is exposed to unnecessary risks."
The CPSC's warning highlights the dangers of using electrical appliances near water without proper safety protections.
An immersion protection device is designed to cut power immediately if the appliance contacts water, reducing the risk of shock.
Consumers are urged to check their homes for the recalled Remington model and take immediate action. Following these instructions can keep users safe and make sure refunds are handled without issues.
