There are a lot of speculations circulating the web about the plot of Avengers: Infinity War Part 1, one of which is the death of several key characters. Another theory is the return of Tom Hiddleston as Loki teaming up with Thor and the rest of mightiest heroes of Earth. Another theory is how Thanos is related to one more key character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to a report from Christian Post, during the home release kick-off for Age of Ultron, Marvel Studio head Kevin Feige hinted, "It definitely is an end to some version of the team that we've come to know in 'The Avengers'." A lot of fans take this as the possibility of some key Avengers dying on the first movie to make way for new generation Avengers to star on the next film and launch phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Two characters rumored to meet their demise are Thor and Captain America. Some even think Thor will not make it till the next Avenger Sequel and may end up dead or in a prison in Thor: Ragnarok.

In the comic books, Captain America is already set to die in Civil War but in case he survives the third movie in his standalone franchise, some think that after the first Infinity War, Bucky Barnes will assume the role, which is basically what happens in the original Civil War Story. What would substantiate this theory is that Chris Evans who plays the part only has two movies left with his contract.

Another rumor circulating the web is still related to the possible Thor: Ragnarok plot. In a report by Yibada, there are theories that Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston will return to avenge the destruction of Asgard. Most likely, he will join forces with his brother and the rest of the Avengers. Aside from Captain America and Thor, another possible hero to die is Vision, since Thor is on a quest to complete the Infinity Stones and one of which is in Visions forehead.

Since all story arcs in the MCU are related, there are also some theories about the identity of Thanos, who will be the main villain in the Infinity War movies. In an article by Movie Pilot, Bradely Cooper, the voice behind Guardians of the Galaxy's Rocket, apparently spilled the beans on the identity of Star Lords father. Apparently, Star Lord's father is Thanos, the man on the flying chair.

With three more years to go, a lot more speculations will come out and fans would have to keep a tight watch on what actors and producers might give away during their interviews. Until then, everyone will just have to wait until Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 hits the theatres on May 4, 2018.
