The upcoming film is still in the works, however, it seems like Momoa's casting for the role holds promising future for the character. According to Movie Pilot, Momoa's muscular physique and very manly badass image will help in giving the character a gritty and darker side that will be consistent to DCCU's dark tone to its movies as seen in the trailer of Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman. Momoa's performance for the role is expected to be far from the traditional Aquaman who is portrayed in the comics wearing the orange and green costume. No news have been released yet as to other possible actors for the film, but more details are expected to be released as production progress. Aquaman is set to be directed by James Wan and has been slated to hit theaters in July 27, 2018.
