Polaris Partners led the Series A financing round for Santa Monica, California-based enterprise software startup Bitium which raised $6.5 million, a statement about the funding said.

Mashable completed its Series A funding round with $14 million. The round was closed with an investment from Tribune Digital Ventures, a statement about the financing revealed.

For its first institutional funding round, Palo Alto, California-based Workboard Inc secured $2.75 million. The round was led by Granite Ventures and Opus Capital and joined in by Crosslink and Shea Ventures, VentureBeat reported.

Cyber security firm Cybereason obtained $4.6 million from Charles River Ventures or CRV for its Series A round as it launches its detection platform commercially, TechCrunch reported.

CircleCI was able to raise $6 million for its Series A funding round from DFJ, a venture capital firm, according to VentureBeat which cited a company blog post.
